What LifeX is
LifeX Research Corporation gathers de-identified, anonymous health and lifestyle data to produce national wellness insights. Research Associates are the people who contribute that data by completing health research activities. In plain terms: you're hired to participate in wellness research, your contributions feed an anonymized data set, and you're paid for your time.
What the work involves
Each month, Research Associates are invited—by email or text—to complete a health research activity through their online portal, the Employee Wellness Hub. Activities are designed to take 15 minutes or less and can include things like:
- Surveys and questionnaires
- Watching short videos
- Quizzes
- Logging vitals
- Health coaching and telemedicine check-ins
- Healthcare satisfaction and utilization surveys
You're compensated at $40 per hour, calculated pro rata by time spent. So a 15-minute activity pays $10. Because you're a W-2 employee, you'll receive a W-2 and pay taxes on those earnings, as you would with any employment income.
Are activities required?
Activities are optional but strongly encouraged—the data you contribute is the point of the research, and the activities are designed to support your own health awareness too.
